![]() Seriously, this is completely outrageous. I was very excited to start playing this game, and join the only EQEmu server that's actually worth playing (due to it being the only one with a IP limit, which makes it the only with an interactive community), but there is one seemingly wholly unnecessary changed that completely ruins the EQ experience: No Maps!
What was the purpose of this? Classic had maps, and Project 1999 was set out to recreate this experience, yes? As I'm sure most are gettings your fingers warmed up to type, Yes, you CAN look up the maps on your browser and use /loc, but why make this necessary? Is Everquest not already one of the most inconvenient MMOs to play ever? Did you really need to add yet another tab open in my browser that's just mandatory to be able to play the game? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] This is something I'd really like to hear peoples opinion on. I'm sure if the majority of people agree, it would be something easy to change.

![]() If you don't have the mental capacity to be able to google search maps and figure out how to use them then you don't deserve to play here. This place has a new retard every day.

You know. I've run through plane of tranquility a few thousand times. I don't think I could give you directions to or from any landmarks. Tranq isnt a zone for me. It's a little crescent moon with an arrow on it. I move the arrow to the dot and I click on the thing without ever actually looking at the zone. That's what maps do.

![]() Classic is me printing out maps of all zones.
Instead I have a wiki. | ||

![]() In-game maps aren't classic. End of story.
Also, maestrom brings up a good point. Learn the zones, land marks, mob spawns and paths, traps, named locations, etc. It's part of the charm of EQ (brutal charm at that). Yeah it takes more work at first, but in the long run you'll know how to fly through a zone no problem. Heck, maybe even come to appreciate the zones a little while you're at it. Struggle can bring people together, and we all know this game holds a lot of struggle for its players. Oh, don't forget to level up your Sense Heading.
