Crash when trying to log out to character select screen

This started about two weeks ago after a recent big patch. If I camp out a character instead of going to the character select screen, my screen goes black with music still playing. Eventually I get the message that the client crashed. I would say once out of 20 times I don't crash.

I am on Windows 8 (dual core, nvidia gpu). I have tried camping from full screen mode and windowed mode and the same thing happens. I also tried installing WinEQ2 and the problem still persists.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have experienced this same issue ever since I first installed EQ. I almost always crash after I /camp. The 30 second timer counts down and instead of char select, it crashes the client. Every once in a while I will camp to character select. I have no idea why it sometimes works.

I'm gonna piggy-back on this since it's also been happening to me recently and and I use WinEQ2.

This is the error I get every time I camp and EQ crashes before I get to the character select screen:

I'm also having issues with the client hanging indefinitely while zoning. This happens roughly 1/3 - 1/5 of the time. Any help would be awesome.

My PC is running Windows 8.1 with an Intel Core i5-4460, if that means anything lol.

Same issue here. I have tried all sorts of stuff. I get to character select about 1 out of 10 tries without crashing.

I get the same msg all the time on my laptop. My laptop is a piece of shit, but I would think that it would run a 16 year old game just fine. I always figured it was because my laptop was, again, a piece of shit. But if others are having the same problem, then it must be something else.

Happens with me as well. I've just been ignoring it.

Happens on Windows 10 whether I use /camp, /quit or even kill the task in task manager.

I have a new Win 10 laptop, runs the game fine except crashes 90% of the time on camp-out.
