Unhappy Unlootable corpses due to distance.

Periodically, when I kill a mob, the corpse becomes unlootable as though far away, even though it is clearly visible in front of me.

Even the /loot command doesn't work. Sometimes moving around a ton while spamming the /loot button will work, but most of the time it does not.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about. I would have more screenshots from other instances, but I'm still figuring out a Windows 10 bug that seems to be ignoring them, or placing a cooldown of some sort on how often I can take a screenshot. I suppose I can also provide some log files if that will do any good.

corpse was likely dragged while you were logging in

appears in one spot on your screen, in reality it's where someone else dragged it to

It is not his own corpse, Colgate, it's a NPC corpse since you obviously didn't read the post or even look at the picture.

@OP definitely a weird bug especially since it's just randomly and not every mob. Does relogging ever help or do you normally just not loot when it happens?

I tried logging out and logging back in on a similar occurrence a while back (was a griffin corpse in EC, no big loss), but it didn't help. Now I just generally skip it after a few minutes of running around and pressing my /loot hotkey (which I made because of this weird bug happening occasionally). Sometimes hitting it from an odd angle or distance helps, but sometimes it doesn't.

Had this happen recently on some Frost Giants I was looting in WL just outside of Kael when Reep was kind enough to let me loot some kills while he was faction grinding. I find that it most happens on inclines, hills, or stairs, but it does (rarely) happen on flat surfaces.

I took some screenshots, but Windows 10 ate them. :-(

There was an amusing one where it looked like the Frost Giant had fallen through the seems in the hill and only his left boot was sticking out.

This happens to me on various mobs in Iceclad and EW--unlootable. Relogging mostly helps--it's a ghosting-type issue. Kind of classic!

Log out and back in, and the problem is usually solved. I'm surprised you had an instance in which logging out and back in did not help.

I think this is an issue with mobs dying that are far away from you.

They might be far away, but they appear near. It's almost like the corpse is in another castle or something. Running around all over the place near the body spamming /loot sometimes does the trick but many times not.
