Coldain Shawl Quest

I was doing the 3rd shawl quest. I made the Snow Bunny Stew, my wife needed me to do something so I thought I put the stew in a bag. Later went to turn in and it was not there, I may have put it in the oven vice my bag. I went back and killed a dozen bunnies with no meat drop. I went back to loremaster to restart quest. I have now killed 10 Kodiaks w/o a meat drop. Does anyone know if there is a flag to stop the meat from dropping after each step, or am I just very unlucky?
