Default Longtime MMO Player - Total EQ Noob!

Thought I'd pop in and say hello! This is my absolute first time ever playing EQ. I was recommended by a friend to try it! It's interesting seeing where modern MMOs come from, and getting completely lost in the greater faydark without a map. Would love to meet some players in the early levels in the area! My char's name is Zizzs [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Welcome!

Gfay is a great area to start out in. Here are some helpful links.

The wiki: http://wiki.project1999.com/
I use this for everything and, in fact, all following links are from the wiki

Gfay/Butcherblock quests:
http://wiki.project1999.com/Bone_Chips_Quests
This is a fantastic lowbie quest to do. You turn in 4 bone chips at a time in Kaladim (Dwarf city off of Butcherblock) and it gives amazing exp. The exp is ridic until like lvl 8-9, and it's still good until about 16. This link gives every bone chips quest available. Click on the link for Kaladim and it will give you more specific info.

http://wiki.project1999.com/Crushbone_Belts
http://wiki.project1999.com/Crushbon...lderpads_Quest
These 2 quests are where it's at for gfay/bb. Kill crushbone orcs and collect every single crushbone belt/pad that you can. You turn then in in Kaladim for amazing exp and some leather gear. They are so good, that there is a big market for them in the gfay area. If you decide that you'd rather have some cash instead of the exp you can sell them to other players. The belts for for ~3pp ea and the pads for ~5pp ea. If you are a caster, this is where your spell money could come from. If you are melee this is where a set of banded or something else could come from. Belts mostly come from centurions, and pads from legionnaires/emissarys.

What is your level / class / race?

If you run into a lowbie High Elf Wizard named Cinderea, that's me.
