Old-school Xev player with a new home
Hey all. First off, I've got to give kudos to the fantastic infrastructure this server has. I haven't encountered any lag that I could accredit to the server itself, which is impressive considering Velious was just released. It feels as good, or better, than live was back in the day in terms of fluidity of gameplay and the amount of bugs. Maybe this isn't exactly true, but so far I've yet to be proven wrong and I'm loving it.
I'm really excited to see the large community here. Everquest, for me, was all about exploring and meeting other people along the way; small groups and player-run events were always more interesting to me than raids, but I did slay a few dragons in my time. I've already added a few people to my friends list and I'm only level 11 - very cool to actually meet other people who have no characters on the server and are starting from scratch.
My character's name is Teggen and he's a halfling druid - my live character's name was Varlos (also a halfling druid). A few times I set up low level PvP tournaments at the Freeport arena and gave out lowbie prizes to the victors in bracket-style seeding. It was so popular that guides joined in on the fun to encourage it and hand out items to people (fireworks, etc.). The community is what made this game so great to me.
You might see me online in the evenings (EST), farming will-o-wisps, crafting tailoring/baked goods, or looking for a group/looking to start one. Feel free to say hi! Also looking for a guild, so if you have a pretty good pitch I'm all ears.
