Just started my first real session last night... I think I'm already hooked!
So deliciously hard... Zones so large and terrifying....

All the feelings from 2000 come flooding back!

Welcome back!

Agreed re: old emotions. That said, I did go through a brief period of questioning whether I wanted to continue because P99 is taking up my playing time for other titles (aside from 'If My Heart Had Wings').

Joining a social guild and forming a guild static party has really helped immersion levels, after the newbie levels. Also, EQ takes place at designated times and fits around other activities in my life. Play at my own pace.

Most of the QQing on the forums are tiny insignificant incidents magnified beyond their importance, and are not representative of non-Raid play. The latter sounds like a complete cluster-fuck with variance, and means that if you're not willing to get up at some ungodly hour in the morning via bat-phone, then you're effectively locked out. Fortunately, I was never into EQ for raiding - however, casual raiding would be a nice aspiration, but is unlikely to happen whilst we still have variance.

I'm finding PUGs a much better experience than on Live. However, I suspect that will change once I hit KC and Seb.
