total n00b to EQ

Hi there, my name Nick an I just wanted to post an introduction in the hopes that if any of you reading this are playing any low lvl chars an wanna group with me anytime i'm on an have fun! ( and maybe just maybe take me under there wing and show me around an stuff)
As the title suggests though, I am very new to EQ but not to mmo's. I'm drawn to this game because wow was just not doing it for me anymore and I really like the no hand holding, no map immersive group wanting environment this game has. Iv played probably like 12 hours so far an want to main a human necro that is lvl 4 right now. Tried a wizard but didn't like it as much. So far i'm having a lot of fun and loving that I actually see a lot of people around.

Well sorry for the nonsense rant, basically just wanna say I love it so far, and wanna meet new people to play with/learn from and have an adventure !

My char's name is travollta.

Also one question is how to guilds work ? are they like wow in that there player made or ?

Just incase anyone reads this, I ended up not liking wizard, made enchanter (Monrow) an like enchanter ALOT more. Still having good amounts of fun too, an found alot alot alot of really cool, nice an helpful people in my journeys already [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Enchanter is definitely a group friendly class although it can be challenging upfront but once you master the class I am sure you will have a lot of fun!

Guilds are indeed player made, but you will notice that guilds work very different in EverQuest compared to most MMO. For one, there is no master guild list. Basically, they are a tag and chat channel in-game. But I would definitely recommend joining a guild for the social experience alone.
