Trading from Blue to Red

I've been playing more on Red lately, and less on Blue. I was thinking of selling some Blue items, and trading the plat over to Red. I often see people on both servers saying that they're trading red plat for blue plat, and vice versa.

Question: If something goes wrong (mainly someone taking my stuff and not completing the trade on the other side), is this something I can petition, to possibly get the trade restored? Or is it completely do-at-your-own risk?
