![]() Hi Guys,
I'll be new to p99 once I get everything up and running and I'm thinking about if I'd rather have a shaman or cleric main. The #1 theme for me is, unless scheduled, I'm going to typically have very limited pockets of playtime. Maybe 1.5ish hours at a time. Which of the two, shaman or cleric, assuming equal player skill, would function best in those 1.5 hour timeslots? I'm assuming I'll be soloing a lot since time LFG can sometimes be an hour minimum and I wouldn't want to ditch a group after 30 mins as the healer.

![]() Shaman without a doubt, for your needs. Clerics *can* solo, but the Shaman's much better at it, and in the long term can solo in a lot of places where Clerics cannot. The Shaman also tends to have a wider variety of group roles than the Cleric has, making it at times easier to both join and leave groups.
There are a few long-term drawbacks to the Shaman. Shamans are somewhat less desired by guilds than Cleric mains (mostly because of there being more of the former on P1999) and high-level Shaman spells cost ridiculous amounts of money. Neither of these issues matter at all unless you get to very high levels, but it's something you should be aware of. Danth
