Game Mechanics: Forge Disfunction

None of the forges in Qeynos or Halas will let me combine a Tarnished Short Sword and A Flask of water to make a Small piece of Ore. I get the message, "You cannot combine these items in this container type!"

Thanks, I thought it was a basic classic combine. My bad.

Yeah, sadly not. One of my friends was very disappointed when he got into smithing here after remembering this recipe, collecting a bunch of weapons and failing to smelt them down.

The next question is, Is there a list of classic tradeskill recipes? EQTraders has some newer recipes in their lists. It would be nice if they had included the expansion with the recipe info. I Googled classic EQ tradeskill recipes but couldn't find a good list.
