Default Tell me a story about Velious..

Never really experienced it on live (I was still in my 30s messing around as a ranger).

I guess I'm most curious about the ranking of raid targets. What is the strongest mob other than sleeper? what has best loot table? A top 10 most powerful list would be interesting on this dreary work Monday.

(edited cuz errors)

By zone, not really in order top to bottom.

Kael - Avatar of War
ToV - Lord Vyemm or Aaryonar probably
ST - Hraashna if I remember right
Icewell - Dain Frostreaver IV
Plane of Growth - Tunare
DN - Zlandicar
Skyshrine - Yelinak
Outdoor/Other - Sontalak, CT (post revamp)

That's more difficulty than loot. CT and Vulak drop the best items pretty much.

Top of my head, some may be a little off it's been a while. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Once I was certain which way lead to Iceclad, I counted off my paces. The ocean appeared at eight. I cupped my hands to drink. The water made my belly cramp, but cramps were easier to bear than thirst.

Sunset found me squatting in the grass, groaning. Every stool was looser than the one before, and smelled fouler. By the time the moon came up I was shitting brown water. The more I drank, the more I shat, but the more I shat, the thirstier I grew, and my thirst sent me crawling to the ocean to suck up more water. When I closed my eyes at last, I did not know whether I would be strong enough to open them again

Iceclad blood, it’s only my Iceclad blood, but I did not remember ever having
such a heavy flow. Could it be the water? If it was the water, I was doomed. I had to drink or die of thirst waiting for the boat that would never show in the Desert of Ro.

That's a story right?

Vyemm is a monster (pre-dragon bane for sure), Aary is easy if you don't have derps

Doze lewt is insane, tears should be banked until true Velium champions emerge (aint my call so who knows)

Tunare is arguably not tuned right here but I never fought that npc in era (Velious)... on beta she seemed pretty freaking insane to me just watching the tanks' HP and observing how close those heals really were hitting

Most of these fights are heavily decided by the # of 255 str barb rogues railing them (put dat in your "obvious shit" play book)

You really gotta brush up your CH/raid heal/self dispel game for Hrash

Yeah there's easy ways to fuck up Aary tho (and we almost made that mistake on the beta kill... its not just dont derp an aoe)

Will reserve that for innersanctum discussions [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

What about Plane of Mischief? Seems totally incomprehensible.

I think the main difference between xpacs is Kunark is all about pretty much ignoring fight mechanics and blasting the mobs pussy off, and Velious is all about dealing with the mechanics.

Hope they keep the beta server up so the JV squads can practice and contest, otherwise even if the 2nd/3rd tier guilds get a shot they are just going to wipe even with a large enough raid force.
