![]() Hello all, I'm still pretty new to the server but have played on EQLive for awhile as well as EQEmu.
This is however my first shot at an enchanter(Dark elf). I'm level 5 currently and can't really remember where to head out after level 5ish, I should goto EC I think, but it has been A LONG TIME since I've played EQ lol... I use my level 4 pet and kind of let it kick everythings ass while I go pull another mob, I know this will work for only a little while longer, should I switch to using charmmed pets once I obtain the spell? Or should I still with the lil invis dude with his uber shield and sword? I would prefer to group, but haven't had luck as of yet, anyway, just kind of wanted to see what you guys had to say, take it easy all!

![]() From what I remember, charming gives you a stronger pet overall but it's riskier. So it's really up to you. As far as leveling locations, you probably want to start hitting orc camps in EC. This is all from memory though so take my advice with a grain of salt [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

![]() You can use your pet to solo for a very long time. It does pretty good DPS once it can dual-wield (I don't remember exactly when), it just can't tank very well and you can't heal it. The trick is to stun mobs a lot, minimizing the pet's incoming damage.
Charm is better, but this is only viable if you have a really high charisma. Like 200. If you have that - and it's one of the cheapest "full twink" packages in the game - then you can charm with great results from level 12.

![]() You don't need 200 CHA to charm, you just get better results with it but you can charm with 120 cha just as easily. It's all about your own ability to control a situation.

![]() I like the enchy pet. Haven't felt the need to mess with charming yet. I root the mob, slow, dot and DD it while the pet goes at it. Pet regens its health while I med, or you can use Rune as a sort of ghetto heal in the middle of a fight as well. Stun works too.

![]() Grind it out until you get whirl til you hurl.. then just chain stun mobs with that while you pet rips them up, use your lowest dd so pet doesnt steal xp.. rinse & repeat. As you get higher level whirl uses less and less of your mana, allowing for a nuke or 2.

![]() Charm isnt really worth it until lvl 39 where you get a useful charm, i tried it a few times before and it just doesnt seem to hold long enough.
Your own pet is not that bad. I mostly pull with tash and then slow and root the mob. And then use dot/stun/dd and probably rune. Keep your pet buffed all the time especially with haste/augm once you get that.
