new lvl 5

Hi guys, I am new to EQ1. I played EQOA[10 yrs ago], FFXI, EQ2 and WoW.

I am having trouble soloing in east/west commonlands. I've found that the mobs are either green or red when im looking for whites or blues.

My chars are:
Soran level 5 human necromancer
Soraan level 5 human mage.
Send me a tell if you are ever interested in grouping.

Responses or advice is appreciated.

I'm in exactly the same boat. My Rogue is level 6 at the moment so i will definitely look for you in game.

I think there are some orc camps there that make for good grouping.

Should be able to do alright on pumas, rattlesnakes, black bears and large/giant spiders at that level. Try looking over on the side of the zone with the tunnel to SRo.

I would suggest get a port (and subsequent bind, don't forget to ask for that) to GFay where you can do very well at Orc hill, and cb entrance. Provided you are not evil aligned you will have no trouble conducting business with the elves ^^

Oh and remember to kill every bear you see. High Quality Bear Pelts sell for around 30 pp if I'm not mistaken. They are used to make handcrafted bags.

At level 5, beetles are still blue, as well as bears, large spider, skeleton should be white.

You can try befallen entrance in solo as a mage or necro.

I would say try Nro instead, less populated so more of the stuff will be up. Plus the zone is less likely to hiccup due to all the people spamming their wares lol. I can't remember exactly what I hunted over there but seems like it was similar lvl range to ec.
