I used to play EverQuest from the start (1999) to a few months into SoL.... I think SoL was the means to the end of EverQuest as most of us knew it and loved it (the Bazaar for a start! ugh).

Anyway... i'm downloading the torrent, as suggested in the 'setting up' page, and I was wondering if anybody has any tips to speed up the torrent download? I appreciate that may be an example of me being impatient, but it was very disheartening to see it go from ~750kb/s for the first 1gig of the torrent, then stick at ~1-3.5kb/s ever since! I don't fancy waiting 300+ hours hehe.

Ok, so i'm impatient :P I just loved EverQuest back in the day and it would be great to get back into it!

Just give it a little time. When I downloaded it it started at like 4 hours to finish, but after a bit dropped down to 30 minutes. I think it took me a total of 45-ish minutes to download.

Hehe it might be a 'time of day' thing for me, since I live in the UK (poor me, I know). It started off at ~750kb/s and I want that speed back!

Well if it starts at 750kb/s and then drops off, then just keep restarting it! =P

Nah, just give it some time and it should level out somewhere. Besides, this'll give you a good chance to say goodbye to the real world.

And yeah, f*ck the Bazaar.

'Sigh of relief' the download speed has just started picking up again.

I don't know why i'm telling you all this in the forums, I very much doubt anybody cares lol :P
