Default Question about Killstealing Enchanter Animation (Xornn's Enchanter Guide)

I rarely use the animation. Charming is awesome. I've found some situations where I can get by being very lazy and much safer with the animation, coupled with slows/zerker spirit. The issue with the animation besides it being shit dps and hp, is trying to killsteal it. I understand I can memblur, or send it away (Waste of reagent and mana), but Xorrn's guide on the wiki states the following:

Quote:
Quite similar to pure kamikaze, the goal in KS Kamikaze is to kill steal your animation at the end of the fight. This is much easier to accomplish after you reach 39th and gain an AoE Blur, which allows you to call your pet off. Basically the idea is to attack slow the mob as usual, then just keep putting Berzerker Shields (or Runes if you prefer) onto your pet as they fade, which will allow you to keep the pet healthy while you just keep regenerating the mana the shields are using. With an attack slow, the shields will usually stay up for awhile, to this can be a slow and time-consuming kill. As the mob turns to run, you stand and blur it, then immediately follow with your nuke to kill it and claim full experience. However, with a hasted, dual wielding, double attacking animation, it can be rather tricky to KS Mr. Kamikaze sometimes. Once you gain the AoE Blur, you can blur the mob and call your pet off (he forgets he's mad at it) all at the same time.
My question is involving the bolded statements. I have AOE blur, casting this doesn't pull my animation back or anything. He just keeps smacking it. Can anyone explain this? If I could make my pet stop hitting it, this method would be awesome and way more reliable.

The method will never be reliable, because mem blur is inherently unreliable.

Basically the "memblur" effect is beneficial so therefore not resistable. You will always get the "mob blinks" message. But that does NOT mean the mob has been successfully mem blurred.

Each spell with the memblur effect has a percentage attached to it and theoretically that is the percentage chance of it actually working to clear all agro from the mob. And generally higher level spells have a higher percentage of success. This is sometimes more theoretical than empirically true because some that have lower listed percentages like Mesmerize seem to actually work better.

But in any case, you cast your memblur spell and hope it works. More often than not it will not work. There are only two ways to confirm it has worked (1) The mob either roams away, or it attacks you when it's root/mez wears off, (2) if it doesn't see invis/ivu then you can invis and con it to see if it's indifferent. Sometimes if the mob is rooted but not mezzed it will change it's facing when it is successfully blurred.

But if you are trying to AE blur a running mob and your summoned pet, the chances of it working on p99 are so slim as to be totally not worth the effort imo. Reclaim or invis poof the pet if you want to get full exp.
