Game Mechanics: Green Aggro Working As Intended?

Gnomes and clockworks will not agro you IF they con green to you. At level 48 (first time I had checked in awhile ), they were green and leave me alone during the fight. If I pull the Lava Ele too close to a curate he will heal the elemental, but leave me alone. Thus, this is a high level camp to solo. Not because of the actual mob difficulty, but the agro problems with the clockworks. Once they are green yo you, it's a piece of cake.
