Miscellaneous: Lost items and money I just bought because "Thou hast been expelled by the gods!"

I bought 5 platinum bars, and right away after I bought the last bar, I get a message "Thou hast been expelled by the gods!" and it booted me to log on screen.

Once I logged back in, the bars I just bought are not in my inventory, and my money I used to buy them is gone as well????
