Default Work around bad Titanium Disks?

I purchased titanium disks last year from the US - upon trying to install the game it will not go past disk 2 and get stuck on the acrylia.s3d file. I put off messing with it awhile and thought about trying to get the game installed. The disk was used and a little scratched but nothing major. I tried running it through a disk scratch fixer twice and still does not work. It came along with Echos of Faydwer which works fine but as I understand it, only titanium will work, correct?

Is there anyway to get around this problem with my disk? Can I force disk 3 onward to try to install then pick up the missing files from somewhere? I tried running disk three for installation but no dice, but again never really tried this before so I might be missing a trick.

edited: took out idea bout platinum pack...not the same as titanium..

Thanks!

Default ISO Files

you can check out this post...

One thing I have seen work in the past is to download a Daemon tool. Use it or a CD/DVD burning software to copy the disc(s) to .iso files. Then use the Daemon tool to run the discs virtually.

It is a long shot, but it might work.

I have seen the above link - higher powers deem such things unreachable.

I'll give the daemon tool a go and see what happens, thanks!

I used Daemon Tools. I remember being stuck after the first disc loaded, as it stopped. You need to do the exact same thing to start the second disc as you did the first, and so on for the rest.

I do offer, via private message request, the step by step instructions sent to me when I started. My personal memory of it is fading, but the instructions were good enough to get me in game having never used any of these tools.

One trick that sometimes worked with old CDs..

Copy the contents from all the discs into a folder on your pc.

Then run setup.

Have not tried this with Titanium.

Sorry for the somewhat late response but I came down with the plague the last few days and haven't done much of anything online. I did however get it working just now and am in game. I found a work around for visiting certain sites and got the game working that way after trying the previous ideas with no luck.

Thanks everyone who sent me pms and posted here with tips I really appreciate it and I also think shows what a helpful and friendly community is [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Kinda wild but if a game has anything short of a cigarette burn in a disc turtle wax car wax can possibly help.

Used to apply it with a soft wash cloth and let sit for 10-15 mins, once you remove it the small scratches on the disc are less noticeable by a cd reader.

iirc got that tip off of TV in the late 90s; its gotta work its classic.

This has always worked for me in the past. If you try this and it still doesn't work try downloading the individual files giving you a problem (acrylia.s3d) and adding it to your copied folders.

If all else fails, take to the high seas.

Thanks, yes it got stuck when trying to copy over the files. It just sat there forever with the last two files to go. I did end up having to have a high seas adventure after locating a way to get there.
