Can't invite players to group?

I started in Kunark but I was only 12 at the time, so I don't remember if this is intended or my client is bugged. I can't invite people to my group using the /invite <playername> command. I can if I target them and use /invite or if I use the group box.

Any info is appreciated!

I believe this was "fixed" sometime ago so that /invite <playername> no long works. It was deemed not classic.

You now have to have the player within sight and targeted to invite them to groups

Cool, I just wanted to make sure it was a feature and not an issue with my side, I couldnt find any information on this.
