Chanter Animations costs?

I stocked up on tiny daggers and I'm pretty positive I had only full stacks of 20. I just cast the level 8 animation, and I see I have one stack now of 17. Do these things cost 3 daggers a piece? Nothing I've read says that (and I though I found the level 4 one costing 2 as well.)

Or have I miscounted, or is it a bug or something else?

Thanks. This is definitely happening, and Allakazam's disagrees with the cost, but maybe they reverted to 1 all the time on live.
