After camping some of the high quality parts for the first few coldain rings, it seems that the high quality pelts are absurdly rare. According to my logs:

Snow Cougar: 64 killed, 0 high quality pelts, 2 needed for 1st ring Tundra Kodiak: 92 killed, 0 high quality pelts, 2 needed for 1st ring Walrus: 128 across 2 characters, 1 high quality pelt, 1 needed. This is the result of ~5 hours of killing shit with a 60 bard / monk, both very well geared. The wooly rhino horn only took me 14 kills to get, but its not worth it for me to spend another 20 hours farming just so I can test the first ring combine / turn in. I will try to find more information about drop rates, but its hard to search through the internet spam of cougar pelt. I leveled at the Ry'gorr fort on live, and I do not remember the HQ pelts being that rare, but they could immediately fetch some decent pp. - Trav | ||
