Miscellaneous: Can't Attack?

For some reason my iksar shaman when in auto attack mode wont swing a "spear" bought from weapon merchants. But like.. If i punch something it will start swinging and i can put on the spear while in attack mode to attack with it. but i can't "start swinging" with it for some reason...

The spear is probably not magical, and you are trying to hit something that requires a magical weapon.

It doesn't say "You try to hit but its INVULNERABLE" it just doesnt swing. and it was against a putrid skeleton in Qhills

I'm having the same problem. Iksar necro, in rathe mountains right now, have my OT hammer out, and I can't hit shit. I am literally not even swinging the weapon, the thing is right in front of me. So then I run around sit down stand up try to cast a spell whatever the fuck so then i can swing and it doesn't seem like it is doing anything. Right now I am standing in front of an orc with auto attack on and not swinging. I think I had a similar problem with my Ogre Warrior but it seemed like it didn't last long not sure what the problem is.

In my experience, trying to attack a willowisp or ghoul with a non-magic item just makes you miss all the time (char does swing). Not sure if there is suppose to be a message or anything.

If you attack a wisp you'd get a message that the wisp is INVULNERABLE, as Fab said above.

My character is an Iksar Shaman, maybe its an iksar bug? But yeah, it doesnt say thing at all it doesnt say "You swing at whatever and miss" it doesnt say "you swing and hit" it doesnt say "you try to attack but its INVULNERABLE" its like Auto attack isnt even on but it is.

This happened to me as well but I don't remember the circumstances (turned on auto attack, would not swing or hit) - I just assumed it was lag.

Still have the problem, I'm not sure how to get around it. I'm a necro so I don't have to melee at the level I'm at now but when I take out OT hammer to try to hammer to OT it just isn't even attempting to swing and it isn't giving any kind of message like you're too close or you're too far or you miss, just auto attack on, standing right in front of the mob and no swing takes place.

probably your hitsmode option in your chatbar, you can have full partial or miss only if you have partial or miss only it will look like a miss in full you get it all
