![]() So I found my old eq trilogy rulebook in an old box today, and I briefly read through it. The most interesting thing to me was it showed a screenshot of the player count per server(in the selecting a server section):
players online Tallon Zek(pvp team lowest pop): 504 Vallon Zek(pvp team): 513 Lanys Tv'yl: 672 Luclin: 675 Rallos Zek(pvp): 719 some other servers Quellious(highest shown): 858 There was a scroll bar to the side, so this is probably the lowest population servers. However this shows that at times project 1999 does have higher population or comparable population to live servers at the time. Some other stuff: Five food and drink is supposedly supposed to last 30 hours in game, or 5 game days. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not on p99 can't really tell. Dexterity in the rule book says it decreases time between attacks, chance to hit an attack with certain weapons. I'm pretty sure this is inaccurate, but I found it funny it listed it in the rulebook this way. Supposedly guilds are supposed to be able to declare "guild wars" on each other in game where you duel each other and you can loot coins off of the losing side's body. I don't know if this is in game or not because I've never heard of someone doing this. The rulebook is very advanced, it tells you everything and includes a mini strategy guide with information that is actually useful on how to play the game(for example recommends iksar necro, Halfling druid, doing the crushbone belt quests if you're an elf). Also includes maps of all newbie starting areas. It literally teaches you almost every aspect of the game if you read through it including the abstract concepts like pulling monsters. If you're below level 5 it says when you die you should respawn with 5 food and drink. It suggests dying to replenish your food supplies if you run out below level 5. It does however say you would need to get your corpse to recover your possessions, so it sounds like the mechanic is you die then you respawn with only 5 food and 5 drink. When you need to run from a mob one of the suggestions is to bring it to other players.

![]() All I see is PvP is extremely unpopular due to EQ PvP being bad.

![]() The dexterity info listed might be that certain weapons just may miss less with high dex, resulting in decreased times before hits. Perhaps if any of this is true something can be found regarding it with some research.

![]() I remember most of those things being accurate at the correct place in the EQ timeline, except the dex thing decreasing attack time, that was disproved, but long believed early in the game.
The guild wars command used to start an open ended duel, and was restricted to a zone, I dont remember the loot rules. The food and drink thing was changed when it was changed that you spawned with all your stuff under level 5.

![]() I think they had to offer a /movelog to people on Fennin Ro at least twice because the pop was going over 2200-2400 players. Why was it so popular there?

Just like if Red99 had 1000 people and Blue server had 50 people that all new people coming to Project1999 would join Red since that's where most people are.

![]() I have this book, it's part of a set - very useful, also has a full list of spells!
It's a great way to see which spells you need for each level, the damage, recast time etc. I've used it so much, it got worn out, so I bought another set at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/EverQuest-Prim.../dp/076154237X
