Game Mechanics: rogue duelist

After I pop duelist and backstab it seems to me that it always hits once for 388. I hit backstab immediately after duelist so I can get a second one before time is up. The second one's dmg varies but the first one is always 388 for me.

I've waited 2 secs after duelist to backstab but it's still 388. Anyone else having this issue?

Note: This isn't connected to the recent patch because it was happening before hand. I've been experiencing this for awhile now.

I believe duelist is a multiplier, so it's multiplying your minimum backstab. Depending on stats the minimum can be very common

388 is likely your minimum backstab with duelist up, which may be why it seems really common.

my minimum best i can remember is 88. I can't remember one time where it didn't hit for 388.

My rogue is 59 so not max lvl. Maybe this has something to do with it? Might go away at 60 which would be why it's not reported. Just a theory.

Your max / min backstab is based on your weapon damage and level, and going from 59 to 60 gives an inordinate bump in max backstab damage, but this is kinda the "reward" for getting 60.

Backstab minimum with duelist should be 240 at 60 if this is coded correctly.

88 backstab min at 59, 120 at 60, 388 is backstab min with duelist up 59 or 60

That's super incorrect. I played a rogue for years on live. Backstab min under duelist was 2x normal min. Regular melee hits were 4x min hit, and all hits were doubled from what they would have been (or following min rules if a normal melee hit that would have been less than 4x base)

Reuse time from 30 (L59) to 29 (L60) minutes
Multiplies all base damage attacks by 4When using this discipline, all hits landed by the rogue will be for at least four times the base weapons damage. Backstab damage is doubled. This discipline lasts for 12 seconds, and has a base reuse time of 30 minutes. The reuse time for this discipline will decrease as the rogue gains additional levels.

I'm going to bump this because yesterday I was duo'd with a necro in KC. The first backstab of duelist was:

1st duelist - 388
2nd duelist - 388,388 double
3rd duelist - 388

This is probably like 20ish 388 hits in a row now. Maybe I'll hit for something besides 388 before I'm 60.

*Note: This is only the first backstab while duelist is activated. The second one always varies in damage.
