Default Question about Alchemy potions...

I have a lvl 41 Shaman who is skilled up to about 40 in Alchemy. I made some Blood of the Wolf (SoW) potions and gave them to my lowbie alt.

He is level 5 and when I use the potion, I only get a 12-minute SoW.

Recently, someone else gave the same character (now at level 7) a SoW potion and it lasted for like 40 minutes.

Is the duration (and speed?) of the potion dependent on the level of the character using it, or the skill level of the alchemist making it?

I've read the wiki's and guides and haven't seen a clear explanation.

Dependent on the character using it. I tried giving a 10 dose to a Lvl 1 character to do the Kelethin mail quest on an alt and got about 5 minutes maximum out of it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Whew! Well thanks for clearing that up.

See, I created a bunch of 10-dose Blood of the Wolf potions as soon as I could (skill level 30-40), so that I could go around selling them and make some money back. Got kinda worried when I saw my lowbie alt only getting 12:00 out of them... would've been upset if i had unknowingly sold shitty potions and charged a decently high price for them.

Thanks for the info.

I know it also depends on the person's level when they give it to you how fast you run. But not sure about Pots?

Using a potion makes you the caster, so it would be as if you were the caster of a sow at level 1.

Somewhat related, do any of the illusion potions exist on p99? Halfling illusion etc.
