Default Feedback from a new r99 player.

I found a group of ex-EQers through another game. I recommended p99 to them and being from sullon zek, they gave red a go.

I received a message from a member of that group two weeks after they started. I'm sure the message contents would be of interest to both players and staff of red 99. I won't mention any names:

"Oh hey, just to let you know i've moved on already. Got to level 20 and got a feel for the community and i'm not going to play my toon any further. The 'classic' part of the game is nice, but the community combined with the insanely low population just turns me off. Saying anything further would just be a rant. Have already begun the search for something else, but thanks for letting me know about the game. It was a blast for a short while."

Duly noted. Red99 isn't for everybody.

Seriously doubt someone sent a tell/PM this pretentious.

I'd believe "Was cool to play classic EQ for a while but some asshole in a fungi kept harassing me in Unrest and I was too stupid to go level somewhere else"

Everyone that doesn't log in or quits because of "low population" is just contributing to the problem. Also not believing OMG the population is posted right on the main page and would you believe it I got to level 20 and there was LOW population.

I totally agree with this, although you'll note population size was not their only reason for leaving.

The devs, anyhow it seems the devs who have the last word on what gets implemented on the ruleset have no fucking clue about making a successful pvp server.

They choose to waste GM time on upholding arbitrary, hard to enforce play nice policy with tons of abuse potential to ban players instead of making events that generates fun times, pvp and makes people stick around for more. Theyre not pvpers and try to implement really bad rulesets that they think will help attract players but has the opposite effect.

Steer clear imo and find a real pvp game like Dayz or Darkfall until a better PVP mmo comes out.

Correct! It is only for Ultra-Nerds who use multiple drugs, live off un-employment, and voted for Obama in 2008 AND in 2012

My most enjoyable time on red was during the XP bonus of Thanksgiving... when getting a group to level my monk wasn't at all difficult [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

XP bonus turned off, players turned off... nobody to group with /sadface, /q

Exp bonus is temporary and whatever it is set to is the new standard. Case in point, the permanent scaling exp bonus between 1-50 isn't causing players to flock to server. The fact that you've actually attained something when you get to high 50's-60 gives people something to play for and causes them to be more "sticky" once they do get to higher levels. If you cheapen the experience, players just use insane exp modifier to get to 60 and then quit NBD.

I agree with the exp bonus to get players out of the low levels where there are literally no players but adding permanent higher exp bonus isn't going to cause there to be more lower level players permanently.

A higher xp modifier for levels 1-35 would be awesome. By then you'd know if you like the class you're playing.
