Game Mechanics: Trade bug - still?!

Last night in EC I sold a Breastplate of Ro to Phaurun. It wasn't letting us open the trade window as he was lagging. He logged out and in. I open the trade window with him, he puts the money in, I hit trade and the box disappears.

I didn't get the money and he didn't get the BP (he's an honest guy from talking to him) but it didn't take his money either. The BP is not in my inventory, it gets eaten.

I petitioned but haven't gotten a reply. I had something kind of similar happen in Permafrost with a guildie a few days before but it gave him the item I was selling and it didn't give me his money. I chalked it up to Perma being bugged beyond repair for the last 4+ months at least.

Anyone else having this issue? I used to hear a lot about it but thought it was fixed.
