Not to diminish the bard BoTB either, but the bard epic is so game changing and only a handful of bards on the server had epic at the time. I know everyone thinks their classes epic is game changing, but not like the bard 1.8 modifier to all songs including singing is - not to mention you can melee while chanting. I was on a bit of a EQ hiatus at the time, so even if I had epic I wouldn't have shown up, but a bard with epic should never lose a duel to a bard without.. ever. I'd guess there were less than 5 epic bards on the server when BoTB happened as TMO was the only guild with epic bards at that time, so it was basically pre-determined among those very few players.
That being said, I got destroyed on a stupid mistake at 2v2 against a team we should have dominated, so not like I can claim I'd have done well at BoTB.
