Armor graphics is actually a good reason, on some cards they are kinda buggy with transparencies and mipmaps. And someone needs to make a patcher to patch them because you can't redistribute them as a package (technically).

No one has finished the project and the thread where it's discussed and there is a few updates is a mess.

It's one reason you see big black splotches on sand giant heads. It also increases memory footprint and load times a slight bit. So if your a minimalist and play your FPS's at 120fps and low graphics settings just for that nanosecond more response time. Is another good reason.

I genuinely think it adds a few seconds to load times. Though I deal with it.

Unless you run the game off ramdisk.
