Haven't played in a while patcher issues please help ^.^

So I have the eqemu patcher thing for the game, I haven't played in a while and it just try's to connect to the server over and over and doesn't work. Back when I first started P99 I did the file editing thing you had to do to connect to their server. Does the EQ patcher still work, or do I need to download something else to play or edit files like I used to. Not sure need help please and thank you, I'm missing the long nights of group chat and my quild mates I haven't got to talk to in forever. Happy hunting.
