actually i have your rags to riches strat right here. a newb i was buying bone chips off of explained to me how he obtained so many. he just bought them off vendors around his starting city, then re-sold them. i'll pay 1 plat per chip. easy money when you got the bag space and are returning to town all the time

I recommend you reroll a caster class, preferably mage or necro to farm some items before you endulge on the journey as a paladin I tried, it didn't work out, shit's just to god damn classic, even with a ghoulbane you'll be a useless piece of shit until your high levels where you are good in pvp but still real hard to find xp. If you want difficulty: Nightmare, then goahead, don't say we didn't warn you

It's doable I've seen several pallies succeed from rags to riches. But Smedy's right. Its tough.
Vadd has a good guild though =) so maybe he'll do alright with groups and stuff. Don't be afraid to ask for ports or what not if you need to hook up with people. | ||

alternatively, there is a fellow on this server named Heartbrand, who is very concerned about his e-rep and profusely claims to gift newbs starting gear for their journey, while his... supply chain? is less than honorable. he'll probably pop up in this thread after i leave this message
and if he doesn't, he'll probably contact you privately to tell you how much of a liar i am and then help you out

I also see a lot of advice telling people to immediately re-roll. I kind of disagree with that. Most peoples heart is in the right place on the first toon they roll if their coming back to the game. There's no reason you cant have multiple toons and just slowly progress your real main if you come to a rough spot. It's not bad to roll another class and take a break, or use it to farm gear to pick back up again on your old toon.
Whats bad is when people help you out and all that progress disappears for eternity never to be seen again 2 years later. | ||
