We're going to hammer some more details out over the next week or so. I would then like to gather some community feedback on the proposed ruleset.

This weekend I am going to be making a WBS (and hopefully publishing it) so people will have a clearer idea of what needs to be done / what has been done.
This came up on the blue server forums so I figured I would throw it out here for you guys to see. It was a thread started asking about when the team pvp server would open up.

SZ ruleset will lead to the same result as SZ, a quick and easy domination by the evil team. Coupled with the fact that people here KNOW that evil = ez mode will lead to a huge population advantage in the beginning in addition to the other advantages.

Sorry pals, we can't just do it the same here we need to be better than that.

So I'd start by looking at the key advantages of SZ evil side:

1. Necros.

Why this is an advantage:
Necros (especially since the resist changes) are generally considered a top PVP class. Evil team has exclusive access. Additionally, they are the only class with summon corpse.

2. Shadowknights

Why this is an advantage:
SKs in this era tend to make the best/easiest low level tanks, especially considering the evil racial advantages (mentioned below). They are also considered a top pvp class and are exclusive to team evil.

3. Evil only races - ogre, troll and iksar

Why this is an advantage:
Iksars are either the best or 2nd best at any class they can be, especially once Velious is out. They are also the only starting race on the continent of Kunark (see below) and have the best 1-30 path by a huge margain. Ogres are the only race with frontal stun immunity. Ogres and trolls have huge stat advantages for SK/war.

4. Evil starting areas - Grobb/Oggok and Cabalis, specifically

Why this is advantage:
Owning zone control over Kunark at the beginning leads to long term control. The impact is minimized as time goes by, but it's hard to overtake someone who gets such a big head start. Gear is better in Kunark. Exp spots are better in Kunark. On top of that, ogres/trolls are the only races within 4 zones of each other.

ALL OTHER RACES aside from ogres, trolls and iksars can be of multiple alignments. This makes all other cities and low level areas automatically contested. Evil gnomes, humans, half elves and dark elves have to battle, although the vast majority of DEs will be evil.

The disadvantages for evil team? No rangers and paladins, neither of which add any unique abilities or are considered a great pvp class (although a well played paladin is a beast to kill).

So, the TLDR version:
Evils get the best races and the best spots to level uncontested while the other two teams get shittier classes/races and have to battle all three factions in bad exp areas.

Bah I just saw him post it on blue forum and didn't know he posted the exact same thing in another thread. Either way it's nice to have it's own thread so people that don't normally dig through bullshit threads can read it.

Definitely not going to do a search on every post I make to ensure it isn't somewhere else.

Also want to add it would be real nice if the GMS made another forum area under PvP forums for team pvp discussion. They already posted there that they want to get feed back from the players. There wouldn't be a better way to organize all the feed back.

This wud be grat if it didn't turn into a teams99 rnf and the idea of organizing all teams threads into a subforum so drama of the day doesn't flood the forums and we have to dig around for teams posts would be nice. (yes great idea)

+1 on this. Need a T99 forum. Policed aggressively. Keep shit on topic and productive.
