Default GM Hand Holding

This post was inspired by Stasis' thread in regards to same race griefing. However, I strongly believe there should be incentive and punishment for one's decisions.

1) Corpse Camping illegal.
2) Training illegal.
3) "Silent" LnS permitted. You talk crap while you're looting and your LnS rights are revoked.
4) Bind rushing illegal.

The result of violating above actions?

First Offense:
GM Will De-level you by 10 lvls.

Second Offense:
Character Deletion.

Third Offense:
3) IP banned.

This HAS to be a serious matter from day one. If griefing is allowed on this box we will see the server's population drop drastically.

Players should also be rewarded for good behavior. If a specific team is known for it's good behavior, boost xp gain for all elves or gnomes or humans by 10% for a week. If your team is reported for it's bad behavior then you'll be leveling awfully slow fellas: this may also make people think twice about rolling on specific teams such as the dark team.

We need GM hand holding on this server for the population to thrive.

HOW TO BALANCE GM CORRUPTION/DECISION MAKING PROCESS

Implement a system much like League of Legend's tribunal system. In the case of a petition/offense occurring, the GM's will post the logs of the encounter to a specific thread on the forums. As such, players can help GM's on the decision making process. Players found guilty by the jury will go through the punishment of the three offenses.

Neat idea that may encourage players to participate in "jury duty" is to offer a cash incentive. If you participate in the jury process of a player, you are rewarded (X) amount of platinum. Custom idea for the last part, throwing shiz at the wall.

Going to be a deciding factor on whether teams works or not without hardcore SZ rules.

I say just vett 12 active dedicated players with 24hr suspension power. If they abuse it take it away and give it to another player. If its a problem the player being suspended can contact a real GM to get a review. And the GM call will superceed the guide.

Fairly democratic and not destructive like permabans. If shit gets really ugly perma ban after review is an option. We should have some means of gaining the power to police ourselves with only 3rd party judges as necessary. Right now its the wild wild wild west with a marshal in town and usually payed off, placated, distracted, diverted, by the big railroad company. We need some deputies with oversight so they can be uncorrupted when they are corrupt. Its gonna happen. Have a battle plan in place to deal with it.

Hence why logs will be posted?

The tribunal system is one of the best things I've seen done to a game. Even though it's never been done to a mmorpg, LoL is looking to the future by creating a jury of your peers.

24 hour suspensions hold no sort of reprimand whatsoever. Even though I do like your idea of making the community involved in the decision making process, consequences should be more severe. If your going to be a douchebag who will grief 10-20 players off the server, I rather see you IP banned after offense #3. 3 strikes and your out.

You have only posted half truths. We don't know your offense, what you did, why you did it, or how many times you did it.

If you trained some one deliberately three times, or corpse camped a player three times despite silent LnS, yes I would say you deserve a ban. However, that decision wouldn't ultimately be up to me. It would be up to several players. Perhaps a jury of say 20. Reasonable players who earned the title to be a "juror!"

What the hell is this? You complain about having a bad rep after apparently going out of your way to be an asshole?

Uhh...welcome to life?

Yeah, bad reputations happen because, well, you're an idiot. That's why it happens. . . How about you stop being a griefer?

Why do you retards on this board keep suggesting:

Quote:
Third Offense:
3) IP banned.
The internet doesn't work that way. One can easily unplug their modem and plug it back in. Bam, different IP and just circumvented your scary IP ban. Even if their ISP forces a single IP for a single MAC address, they can spoof their MAC to get a different IP. Amazes me how easily the technically illiterate can somehow make it onto an emulated server.
