Default Mac with Parallels 9 and EQ = Great

I have been playing EQ on my Mac via Parallels 8. Prior to version 8 there were issues which prevented me from playing EQ inside of Parallels. The primary issue was that the mouse look would jump all over the place and made the game unplayable. I wound up playing on a Bootcamp partition which sucked as I had to drop out of Mac OS any time I wanted to play EQ. Parallels 8 had a solution to this issue by disabling "Smart Mouse". This confined the mouse to the VM unless you hit a key combination to release the mouse. There was still an issue in that the mouse speed was slow. I could not set max mouse speed and have it respond the same way that it did in a pure Windows environment. It was a bit of a problem however I adapted to the sluggishness. Parallels 9 has fixed the final issue with the mouse. It responds quite nicely now. So, if you have been wanting to play EQ on a Mac and didn't want to drop to Windows Bootcamp or use any other method of playing, give Parallels 9 a shot.

On a related note, there was an issue with adjusting Gamma Correction for the game on a Mac. It would not work within the game so everything was dark. I tracked down a program called Handy Gamma which solves this. You run it and can adjust a slider to adjust the gamma on your Mac.
