Dark Elf faction questions

I'm thinking about making a dark elf wizard... and I would eventually want to take the character to crushbone. The problem I foresee with this though, is the faction hits with indigo brotherhood for killing CB orcs. Indigo brotherhood is the dark elf guard faction, right? So that would eventually make me KoS in Neriak? And at all dark elf outposts?

If I ended up kos in Neriak, is there another wizard trainer I could use somewhere? Maybe the evil wizard trainer in east freeport? Is there any indigo brotherhood faction guards in east freeport?

Also, about how many CB orcs would it take to make a dark elf non-kos to kelethin guards? I'm assuming, even if I'm able to raise the kelethin guard faction to dubious, the kelethin merchants and banker still won't talk to me, since they're probably on a different faction? If I end up kos to Neriak would I basically be cut off from all bankers then?

If I can make the dark elf agnostic, would that help with faction at all?

I realize doing something like this would probably be very difficult. I'm just trying to find out how difficult, I guess.

Advice and answers to my questions would be appreciated, thanks.

Indigo Brotherhood is the warrior guild and Dragoons. Won't hurt any other dark elf factions. It is kind of a bitch to get back when you lose it, and the only way to get it back is by losing the kelethin factions you've been trying to get in the first place.

You won't be KOS to Neriak bankers. You will be KOS to Kelethin merchants and banker as well as the other guilds that are not bonuses from killing orcs. Agnostic may help you get to dubious on the guards faster, but they'll still be KOS to begin with.

I really don't think Crushbone is worth the trouble as a dark elf seeing as you'll spend probably at most 13 or 14 levels there and when you're finished with it, you'll be KOS to the dragoons on the nektulos bridge as well as the dragoon at the Neriak entrance, and any other warrior guild dark elves you might happen into in the city.

If you do become KoS with Indigo Brotherhood, you might still be able to invis into the city and be OK. Also, you are probably friendly with Grobb and Oggok as a dark elf, and the evil Freeport area. I would not expect there to be any Indigo Brotherhood in Freeport, period. For all these areas though, your first time in them (or your first time in Neriak post-Crushbone), I would be very careful and con everything. Also, in addition to Indigo Brotherhood, there are Dreadguard Outer and Dreadguard Inner factions, which I believe are also guards, and they are not affected by killing orcs. I'm not sure exactly which NPCs belong to which faction.

If you kill enough orcs, you will become friendly with Storm Guard, the dwarf guards and warriors guild. You can then hand in Crushbone belts and pads to Canloe Nusback in Kaladim and become friendly with the merchants and bankers of Kaladim.

I really don't think it is worth it to ruin your faction to level at some place for a few real time hours then have your toon have long term issues.

I did Crushbone when young on all my toons. Two are High-Elf. They all have a DE mask though, and all can bank in Neriak, without problems. I can run through the town as a DE with no invis, and as long as I avoid the Indigo Brotherhood (which is super easy to do, since I've only ever accidentally run into them once), I'm not KOS anywhere in Neriak.

Illusion faction is a little wonky on this server and doesn't seem to add to racial faction the way one would expect. On my rogue, I leveled in crushbone and got to "could not possibly get any worse" for Indigo faction, then when I used the mask of deception, I was apprehensive to Dragoons. After killing more orcs my illusion faction dropped still further to Dubious, even though I had long since got the "could not possibly get any worse" message. So I wouldn't use Illusion faction as your guide.

All of your characters have a DE mask? How does that even happen?

Exp isn't the reason I would want to go to crushbone...


Does anyone know for sure if dark elves can use the evil trainers in freeport?

I can't remember for sure but there is like, a "secret" route outside the wall in west freeport to the evil guild in east freeport, right? Or is that only in Qeynos?
