Default Have you ever had a panic attack in EQ?

Has anyone else ever freaked out while playing the game?

Back in the day I was playing my wiz and I handed in some epic quest items without the proper faction needed. I remember staring at the screen for at least an hour trying to figure out what went wrong, while at the same time sweating like a madman and almost passing out. Probably my worst EQ moment.

I can remember bruising my hand really bad from pounding my desk because...someone stole our raid kill in Kael one time.

Other than that I have been pretty easy going.

I'm sure at some point in time some poor wis caster *must* have handed in their Testament of Vanear to the Erudin Cleric's Guild hoping for an even more awesome quest reward... only to get some random cleric spell scroll and faction in return.

My worst EQ moment was my last. My first toon was a Troll Warrior I created in the first week of Everquest. He had a Mask of the Deceiver, had the first piece of Indicolite ever looted on the server (Rallos Zek), and the second or third full set.

Anyways, I died somewhere deep in Sebilis one night and group decided to call it a night and try CR the next day. Sure. Fine. Except my apartment building burned to the ground while I was at work the next day! I lost that corpse on account of not having access to another computer in the ensuing week. I was devastated and couldn't bring myself to ever log back in.

Oh yeah... I also lost my favorite lucky tshirt in the fire as well. That hurt almost as much as losing my computer and my EQ stuff.

Man, that's gotta say something about how addictive EQ is. Your apartment burns down, and you're sweating the EQ character haha

It is serious stuff. We know that it isnt real, but it is the time and effort spent that is lost.

I didn't have much beyond my computer, an old TV, and my clothes. I found out the fire was started in the crackhouse below me, so I really don't care if any of them died tbh. My apt and the one where the fire started were the only two that really burned down.

I remember doing my rogue epic, had just got a bunch of people together to kill the guy in Steamfont. I was standing there hailing the guy to be killed getting, I handed him my items and clicked give. Sadly I didn't check the name belonging to the trade window, and ended up handing in the piece to Jabober, some dipshit mage's air pet that I couldn't see. I lost it pretty good at that point, knowing I was going to have to take another solo trip into Hate and sneak up to the second floor to get the piece I need.

Good thing Rogue Epic was the easiest to get.

One of my friends was a Necro soloing near the Plane of Fear using my cleric to heal his pet and loot the drops from the mobs. He accidentally clicked the portal and killed my cleric inside Fear. He asked another Bard friend of mine to try to get the corpse. The Bard goes in using AE Fear and a Thurg potion to try to get the corpse to a spot for a rezz, but wasn't able to. He ended up getting his guild to do a Raid on Fear to get the corpse of my cleric.

I found out a day or so later as I walked into the Lan room we had setup and he is like well who is going to tell him what happened. They said they were all thinking about how to tell me and how much plat they could get together to buy my cleric new gear because they thought for sure I was going to flip out. I didn't get upset about it at the time, I actually thought it was hilarious!
