Default Anyone able to recommend a good wep for duel wielding bard?

Well I'm almost at the stage where my new bard can duel wield and I'm looking for recommendations for another wep. Price really isnt a concern at this point but I would preferably like something with a nice proc. At the moment I am using an Electrum Bladed Wakizashi (7/21). Is there any wep with nice DPS and reasonably fast that is bard useable? I have been thinking a yak or a shard but the yak wont proc until mid 30s. might even just get another wakizashi. I solo so am undaunted by the taunt effect of having the wep proc. I know rogues get some weps with a nice DoT. anything similar out there for a bard?

Get another Wak, a crystalline blade, Runed Fachion, etc.

Yak/Shard procs are nice for solo, terrible for group unless you need agro. But if you're soloing, you're likely not even using weapons anyways, you'd have your flute out lvl 28-50.

I use PGT and Staff of Writhing. With an SK as the tank I've found I still never (I literally mean never) take aggro even with staff, so it's just nice added damage. If I find that the Staff is an aggro whore with a warrior or pally as tank I'll probably just buy a Wak or something, but I don't group often so I don't know yet!

As was said before, weapons aren't that useful soloing but if you're fighting only one mob then weapons are good finishers after you've gotten the mob to about 20% life or so.

my solo set is:
pgt in primary and obsidian shard in secondary...i pet a cat o' nine tails in primary until it procs.

my grp (non aggro set up) is:
cat o nine tails in primary (it has a very nice ratio and it isn't an aggo proc)
pgt in secondary

This is my setup at level 27. The runed falchion is a good option, but i just the whip better.

Great, thanks for the info guys. I did a quick search for a similar thread but didnt turn much up. Off-topic but until what lvl can a well-geared bard tank stuff down? I'm not planning on doing it regularly later on, more just out of curiosities sake

Around the 20s you're going to start losing your ability to beat stuff down solo and you'll most likely need to start grouping until you get your first percussion DoT (level 30 or 31). For grouping the EBW is in my opinion the best bard weapon pre-planes. A SSoY Will give around the same DPS until it starts to proc, and by then you'll either be grouping and not want the aggro or kiting and not using melee, so a Yak isn't really worth the money for a bard if you ask me. Sharkjaw Cutlasses aren't bad if you like to see big hits but the DPS overall is still lower than the EBW. I'd also advise staying away from Obsidian Shards... they don't have very good dps at all, they're just good for pulling aggro with the proc. At 28 you can work your 1hb up with a staff of writhing if you don't mind the cha hit, but by around 35 the EBW will have passed it again in DPS.

Conclusion: Go with a second EBW, you won't regret it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Tank stuff down, as in solo melee? Toe to toe?

I have problems with dark blue mobs at lvl 50, decked out in planar gear. But I think I tank pretty darn awesome in groups! I just don't have the dps. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I solo dark blues going toe to toe at 40, when I start to get low I just twist mez and regen, I get about 20% back for every 1% the mob does. Obviously takes awhile but halfway decent for camping quest pieces when the mob is indoors.
