In Vanilla it was pretty popular for several spawns.

There would be 5-10 people in the zone at all times.

Yea, I have some memories of October 31 (halloween) 1999 camping aviaks up there, but I don't even remember the camp names?

it's just one of those zones. yes, there is an aviak cave or perch I seem to remember, + the gnoll/zombie camp. That's it.
