Unhappy Mac - Toon movement speed issues

Hey there P99ers on a Mac.

I'm having issues with run speed. Seems at certain times my toon will suddenly start running much slower. Particularly this happens after zoning, and seems to be worse in certain zones (Kithicor seems to be particularly bad).

I tried using the '1 core' option in Wineskin options and had no luck.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas?

I tried changing max FPS from 100 to 60, as well as trying full screen, at different resolutions, etc.

Seems I won't be able to play a bard until I can get this figured out.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Turn max fps down to 30.

Also, try running with wineq2

let me know if either of these solves your problem

Are there instructions anywhere for using wineq2 on OSX? I used the instructions in the OSX thread to get my current version going.

Going to try the 30FPS thing now, and let you know how it goes.

Some other information:

I grouped with a (lv8) ranger as my (lv6) bard. While trying to follow him running around he would consistently be able to run past the horizon while I was left trucking way behind. So I'm certain it's not a 'I remember I used to run faster' thing.

I also crash a lot on zone. I play on wifi, and I'm outside the US. Internet is smoking fast here, but I imagine the P99 server is in the US.

Occasionally I'll speed up to 'normal' speed for a few seconds and then I'll usually slow back down my usual snails pace.

Thanks for the response

Okay, was able to install wineq2 and get it running, and run the client. however it's not pointing to the P99 servers, does anyone know how to set that up on a mac?

changing my FPS to 30 made my character very consistently run slower, while increasing it to 100 caused me to mostly run faster than at FPS 30.

nevermind, looks like from what i've found you dont need to add that line for wineq2. first time I connected I got a blank list of servers but just connected again and could see the p99 servers.

got logged in and my movement situation is the same.

any other advice would be helpful, otherwise maybe I just need to stay off p99 till i buy another comp ;\
