Default Stop Reporting Threads Here

It's getting fucking annoying getting an email a minute, especially when I'm waiting for email corrospondense from the data center. Posts made in this forum are unmoderated with a few exceptions (like discussion about Staff members or discussions of bans). If you don't want people trash talking you, don't post here.

But stop reporting fucking posts.

This seems slightly unfair to me, because in a lot of cases harmless posting gets harmful responses. I can post something totally relevant and on-topic and still get douchebaggery for no reason. Players shouldn't be turned away from posting because of unnecessary things like that. Yes people make posts where they are obviously askin' for it, but I've seen a lot of threads where that's not the case.

Rogean, are you specifically talking about the "!" report button in the thread? If people are breaking server rules, it is still OK to use the petition forum right?

For the most part the R&F is unmoderated. That doesn't mean that you can use racial, sexual, homophobic, ageist, religious, political, ethnic, or other epithets (such as against people with disabilities).

It just means you have a place that you can bicker with one another and not clog up the main forum.

use server chat for your on-topic posts. When those posts are responded with the wrong shit then it will be moderated. The whole point of this section is lack of moderation. And as people slowly learn, as I have, you stop posting here [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

So if someone is blatantly mocking the rules, it is OK to use the "petition/exploit forum" to bring evidence to the mod's attention right? My main concern is not making Rogean miss his important email. That was never my intent or anyone else's I'm sure, and I'm sure we all want to avoid that. However, since we all know that GM's do not actively read rnf, certain things may need to be brought to your attention. I'm trying to get a public answer on how we should go about doing that.

Soo /!\ = bad, but petition/exploit forum = good?

So, F&R is for "stupid threads complaining about stupid shit" and it is entirely up to the folks with the daddypants to decide what deserves locking. Okay, got it, it's a cesspool to be avoided at all costs. Appreciate the clarity and apologies for the email BS.

I only wonder: How a notice, using the guidelines that spell out what qualifies as stupid shit, that cesspool-worthy stupid shit is being tossed around in areas other than the cesspool, itself qualifies as a stupid thread complaining about stupid shit.

Many of us have limited or no desire to take a dip in the cesspool, and when some of the stupid shit splashes out of it and (understandably) goes unnoticed, we simply want to know what to do. When that is squelched, hence the confusion, or my own at the very least.
