Well I used to play EQ a long time ago. I have noticed a TON of servers. any recommendations what is the most populated? anyone willing to invite me into a guild? maybe show me the ropes. I found myself alone in the gnome town lost as can be running around forever. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! Project 1999 has 2 servers. Project1999 Kunark, which is Kunark era game play, and where most of the population is. Then Project1999 Red, which is a PVP server.

Either way you will find plenty of Guilds and players to enjoy your game play!

Again Welcome!

Hello!

Welcome to Project 1999.

This forum is for the Blue (non PvP) Project 1999 server. That is what you should chose in the list of servers.

There are over 700 people playing the game on this server right now. If you create a gnome and are looking for other players, you can zone out into Lesser Faydark and hang a right (hugging the wall) until you zone into Greater Faydark.

Maps are found here: http://wiki.project1999.com/Zones

Train one point in Sense heading, and bind the doability to a turn (left or right) key.
Make a /loc hot button to push in case you are about to die. That way you will know where to find your corpse.

Have fun!

I'd recommend starting a character in freeport as its inhabited by more players due to the trading hub being next door. That way you can ask people questions and possibly get some buffs to help you on your way. From my experience on this server most people are very helpful and patient with answering questions.

This is a very helpful guide for new players!

The wiki is a goldmine of information about the game and I use it constantly.

Also - If you catch me online feel free to send me a tell on my cleric - Pusu

Im pretty bored during groups so answering questions is not a problem!

I suggest rolling a bard as it is everyone's favorite class currently.
