Question Question: Teir Dal Caster Chain Armor?

I remember a long time ago, thought suring classic there was this chain type armor .... might have been crafted I forget, but it was for casters, it was magical and had nice stats. It was purple in color (I think) Anyone know what I am talking about and if so does it exist on P99?

We're talking about Enchanted or Imbued Elven Chain items. The Dark and Half Elf variants were Enchanted/Imbued Teir`Dal Chain.

Early posts on Allakhazam regarding these combines come from the Feb/2001 era, which gives us a rough date of introduction circa Velious. Further research yielded this web archive of Everlore, with commenters from October/2000 (post-Kunark, pre-Velious) speaking of the Enchanted combines.

Through this research, we can ascertain that the first combines were introduced with Kunark. Later comments suggest that the complete details surrounding these elusive armor sets were not finalized until mid-2001 when the Enchanter's "Enchant Mithril" spell was introduced, which obviated the need for planar-sourced Blue Diamonds and opened the unknown recipes for experimentation.

hmmm ok ... I could have sworn the name of the armor was Teir Dal Something Something though. It's been many years so I am sure I have it muddled up.

Without throwing this thread too off-topic, can anyone recommend the 'best' class for classic cultural armor? Barbarian shaman armor seems a bit underwhelming - good AC and a little +WIS on each piece. I had heard High Elves got the best set.

Anyone who smithed back in 2000 have an opinion?

It was all pretty shitty tbh, not gonna lie.
LDoN cultural was where it got mediocre.
