Extremely difficult to connect to the game

When I am at the password log in, about 60% of the time it doesn't allow me to reach the server selection screen.

When I am at the server selection screen, about 80% of the time it is a blank list showing no servers.

If it server lists appear, and I try to enter the blue or red servers, it will fail about 80% of the time.

I've only successfully made it into the game twice.

What's the deal? This seems to be a 24/7 problem for me.

Having the same problem but started today. Server list is blank or error trying to log in

essentially, they screwed up something with the ip chain or something along those lines (im not very technical) and they refuse to admit it or change it back, so they allow a percentage of the population to just suffer while sweeping it under the carpet.

Really starting to impact my ability to play. Crashing on almost every zone. Takes 10 minutes to login. Any advice other than wait for them to fix it?

Tried for an hour to get into the game today. Got in one time, and the game crashed while zoning.

Yeah i had a few people over playing yesterday after and hour only one of us was able to get on. Fast computers 130 Mbps internet. Their server over populated?

One of the stops along the way is causing you issues.

I'm having the same problem. I've been trying to play pretty often over the last three days. I've tried logging in well over 200 times and I've only made it past character select twice.

i continuously get "error 1017" (if and when i get an error message)...about 90% of the time, there's no error message, just boots me back to the login screen. i've made it to the character select screen a handful of times, each time i click "enter world", i get the "everquest not responding" before it boots me to the login. anytime this happens, it takes about 5 minutes or so due to "error 1018" (character is currently in the game world).

This is super frustrating. I used to play EQ on dial up on a piece of shit compaq pressario, now a pc/connection that runs battlefield/modern warfare and other current online games flawlessly cannot manage to get an 18 year old game to connect.
