Default /LF advice on levelling in Odus

Folks

After some advice please.

Erudite newbie zone
I never hunted here (other than passing through enroute to the Hole) back in the day & was wondering if I am better off relocating to Qeynos to kill Snakes or is Tox Forest really a hidden gem?

Rolling an Erudite pally as I've always considered them to be Classy.

Thank You.

Qeynos would probably be easier - the newbie yard there is much more densely packed w/ critters. Toxx can be pretty annoying some times.

Edit: If you do want to give it a try, kobold camps south of the river make for decent xp (mixed with wanderers as needed).

I rolled an erud paladin very recently. The bone chip quest there is okay xp at lvl 3 but really tails off at 4. It does reward you with a decent amount of gold, some spells and raw hide sleeves so I figure it is worth doing to begin with. The poacher head quest is also okay xp.

I prioritise killing decaying skeletons for the cloth/rusty/bags/bone chips, followed by kobolds (who only seem to drop rusty weapons). Lvl 3/4 I've added in fire beetles and some of the higher level kobolds. I kill poachers when I can.

Doing this xp has really tailed off at lvl 4,lvl 5 will be worse as the lvl 1 stuff no longer gives xp.

Anyone know if there is somewhere in tox that I can move to at lvl 5, or is it time to head out of Odus?

Across the bridge on Paineel's side of the yard are a bit higher level monsters, like large spiders and regular skeletons. I am still training my enchanter in this area.

I would go ANYWHERE other than Tox lol. Very few mobs in the zone. Loot sucks also. Go to the Swamp and level a bit then do UGuk when you get high enough. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Leveled a wizard through there and it can be pretty quick in Tox. Lots of decaying skeletons. Kill those and anything else level appropriate until Level 4. Get a port to Kaladim. Turn in all your bone chips. This should get a level plus. Head to Qeynos, get a bind. Go to Blackburrow and start killing low level gnolls for their fangs, and you are on your way. (See wiki for gnoll fang quest.)

Visibility in Tox is bad, need to be aware of your surroundings.

Good luck.

I think they patched in extra mobs because the zone was WAY more full of runts than last time I rolled an erud.

The newbie area in Paineel itself is fantastic. If you enter Paineel and hug the left wall you can get there safely. Otherwise Tox itself can be a little rough starting out, mostly due to the awful visibility.

Odus isn't terrible as a newbie zone (up to level 4) but after that you pretty much have to leave. You could maybe get to 8 if you reaaaaallly wanted to.

How come no faction hits from killing the kobolds in Toxx Forest?
