The rejection of the principles of the enlightenment/abolishment movement by the whites in the Southern United States to the extent that they went to war over it was exclusive to America. America is the only country that had a full blown civil war to protect their slave trade.

The war was over states' right to secede and not slavery. Slavery was on the outs anyways Lincoln used that as a platform to push his Henry Clay agenda.
