Hide Question (Rogue)

I've been curious about something for a little bit but haven't found any substantial information on it and didn't know if anybody else had this problem. Its not so frequent as to be any significant bother but I wanted to find out what I could about it. I didn't want to put it in the bug section because I'm not sure if its a bug. As a precursor I am a 60 Rogue with maxed hide skill. (200) Sometimes when I hit hide I get a success message (You have hidden yourself from view) but won't get the parentheses over my name and won't be treated as hidden by NPCs. It will however give me the broken message (You have moved and are no longer hidden!!) if I move without sneak on in this state. Is this a classic feature or bug? Also do any other rogues experience this or is this some kind of problem on my end? I can't even remember the last time I failed my hide (as far as the message goes) so is this just the server's way of presenting hide failures?
