Default Class? Need Advice

I have never played classic before, but i have played from Gold (first 5) up until about the 13th... So ive been around. I was thinking Shaman would be nice for grouping and ive always wanted to make one, but is it reasonable? I'd want to stay on the "good" side, so i guess that limits me to a barb.
Or is the solo up to a groupable level really too hard to bother?[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Honestly, as a Barb shammy, just find random people to invite and kill stuff with. I find on this server people are a lot more eager to group up. I was killing gnolls in Blackburrow at level... what... 5-6 or something. It didn't go all that well (spam minor heal sucks,) but it is what it is.

Honestly, the first 10 levels or so should be relatively painless. I meleed my way through the first 5 without casting a spell apart from healing between fights now and then.

If I spent half as much time playing as forum-ing, I'd be 50 by now.

/boggle

Even if you've been playing EQ since only 2008, how could you not know the answer to that?
