Default Stuck on character screen

I can get to the character select screen but I can't log on. Nothing happens when I hit "Enter World". I can't select a different character. I can't even quit the program from there.
Any ideas?

I'm gonna bump this. I'm having a similar issue. I'm on a new computer and have been getting the "suchandsuch has referenced a memory at suchandsuch"....boiled down to a resolution issue. I had to Alt + Enter to get it into window mode and now I can get to character select, but no menus. The toons are there, but I can't hit Enter World or create a toon or switch toons.

^Sounds like either an issue with not being full patched or a client issue.

1. For patching, right click your EQ folder -> properties -> security and make sure you have all permissions to edit files. Run eqemulauncher as an admin after making sure.

2. To see if it's a client issue, go to everquest/logs/ folder and open up dbg.txt
The first line in the file is the build date, and it must read
(Build Oct 31 2005 10:33:37)
because titanium is the only client supported by project 1999 (a different date means you have secrets of faydwer, underfoot, sod, etc. and it won't work or will cause a lot of problems)
