Low lvl SK Gear

I recently started playing on this Server and soon I'll have my Ogre SK in his 20s, but my gear has been slowly progressing. I've been taking and using whatever I can get from the mobs I kill, but it isn't much.

Never having played a darkie race or an SK I'm not really well acquainted with any attainable low lvl quests/gear for my character. Is there any decent weapon or armor that could be obtained by someone in my position? I've been searching and it seems I have to wait at least until my 30s to get anything halfway decent – which I'm happy to do – but if there is anything worthwhile I've missed I'd prefer to work towards that.

Being an ogre means you'll have a hard time finding bronze armor that'll fit you. Carry some money and check any vendor you pass--never know what you might see.

The best you can do for a weapon is buy one in EC. Due to the low demand for 2H weapons, you can often find fairly decent weapons for sale in the 100PP range, sometimes less.

the best way is to kill things that give you decent loot and save up to buy stuff. stacks of bone chips sell decent. willowisps are good, 1pp for lightstones greater lightstones can be turned in for a 10pp item in either NK or Sro.

Also the rare reward from preserved meat delivery quest is some good resist gloves. The quest is basically just running from oggok to neriak. You could sell those gloves for a decent price I suspect or just use them.

That's one of the few Oggok quests that I remembered, so I ran it yesterday and got the gloves on the first attempt. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Gonna be doing some more quests Monday probably since I'll be sick of grinding by then.

Never did roll a character on Red99, but I seriously want to. Played on TZ back on Live and while the prospect of playing on bluebie server chafes my ass, I can't see myself leveling a melee completely alone on Red99 to play with 20 people that have probably long-since already formed their own cliques and would see me as nothing but easy prey.

Here's my advice as a new character:

1) Buy a Nathsar Greatsword. Excellent 2hander up to 20 since it's quick and close to the damage cap pre-20. Can probably find one for 100-200p or for free, given how many of them are floating out there.

2) Buy a full set of large banded. Often people will make this for you for free, but typically a full set is 70-100 pp.

3) Buy 5ac 55hp rings (usually 400-500pp for the pair)

After that, you have a ton of choices available and will have experienced enough to make your own choices toward your progression. But i'd say these are the biggest things you need up front. You'll probably get people throwing cool gear at you, as much stuff is floating around the server at this point [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
